Faculty Recitals
Wednesday | March 2
7:30 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
Crystal Rebone will present her first recital as a faculty member of Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø’s Department of Music. Rebone, playing string bass, will perform classic pieces such as “Autumn Leaves” as well as tunes from Miles Davis, Sammy Fain and more. Admission is free and open to the public.
Friday | March 25
7:30 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
Ji Hyun Kim will present her first solo recital at Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø. The program features masterworks by Bach, Beethoven and Scriabin. Kim will also premiere a brand new piece composed by Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø composition faculty Lynnsey Lambrecht. Admission is free and open to the public.
Student Recitals
Saturday | March 5
7:30 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
Dawson Ouellette, a senior music performance and composition double major at Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø, will present his senior composition recital. The recital will include compositions for percussion ensemble, brass quartet, string quartet, solo piano, drum set and jazz combo. Admission is free and open to the public.
Saturday | March 26
3 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
Claire Peters, a senior music business major, will present her senior percussion recital. The recital will feature solo percussion works along with pieces featuring fellow classmates and friends. Admission is free and open to the public.
Symphonic Band Performance
Tuesday | March 8
7:30 p.m. | Dingeldine Music Center
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Symphonic Band will share its first concert of 2022 by presenting a mélange of international offerings, providing a musical tour around the world. This includes stops in Spain, Scotland, China, England, Brazil, Persia and more. The works range in variety, from a Spanish pasodoble about a chocolate maker to music based on the folk songs from the Midu region of China and fiddle tunes from eighteenth-century Perthshire, Scotland. Additionally, audience members can expect pieces from some modern-day Iran and Brazil composers and original music by Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø faculty member Darrell Brown. Admission to this concert is $5 for adults and free for students.
Chorale Homecoming Concert
Sunday | March 27
3 p.m. | St. Mark’s Church (Peoria, IL)
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Chorale will present its homecoming tour concert in Peoria this March. The program, called “Finding Clarity,” speaks to the dichotomous nature of life and how perception alters the way you choose to live. The chorale has reflected on their inability to make and play live music for a portion of the pandemic.
