Burger Center for Student Leadership & Public Service in welcoming Jess Ekstrom to Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø’s campus on Wednesday, October 18 at 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. in the Michel Student Center Ballroom.
Ekstrom started her organization, , when she was only a junior in college after doing an internship at a wish granting foundation. Headbands of Hope is set up so that when a headband is purchased, a headband is given to a child with cancer.
In addition to sharing her journey of creating the company, she will speak about not waiting until after college to act on your ideas and how college students can build companies, affect change and solve problems before graduation. She’ll also touch on the importance of turning issues into action and using experiences to take risks and launch ideas without fearing failure.
All Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø students as well as faculty/staff are welcome to attend.
