Hello BUBAA Family,

March is Women’s History Month which became a national celebration in 1981. We celebrate and honor the women of Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø, BUBAA, in professional fields and society at large.

Alice Walker said, “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they do not have any.” This is not the case when it comes to a Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø woman.

The foundation of Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø was built on the power and tenacity of one woman, Lydia Moss Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø. She approached life with unfailing practicality and purpose. She always sought ways to benefit others and exhibit invocation for her time. She stands as a shining example of the ability to achieve greater and perseveres even in the face of opposition and hardship. We honor the legacy that she left for all women especially at Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø.

There is pride in being a Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø alumni, but I hold special pride in being a Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Woman. A woman that is a part of a long lineage of trailblazers and history makers with more to come. Enjoy this issue of the newsletter as we spotlight women who exercised their power and by their efforts empowered others.

BUBAA always wants to make sure that we are providing BU students with the opportunity to maximize their potential. We are not investing just with our words but with our money as well. Every financial investment, no matter the size, makes a difference.

When contributing to the University, please note that you want your contribution to go BUBAA Scholarships or the Barbara Penelton Endowed Scholarship. You can make your contribution HERE. (link to microsite)

Stay Safe, Stay Informed, Stay #BUBAAProud
From a Proud Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Woman
