Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø’s Music Scholarship Concert Series provides support for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø music students while also culturally enriching our community.

The first performance of the 2019-20 Music Scholarship Concert Series is this Sunday and will feature the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø Jazz Ensembles in an Afternoon of Jazz at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, 1417 W. Barker Avenue on the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø campus. The 19-member ensemble will perform the music of Charles Mingus, Nat Adderely, Mike Tomaro, and more. The Groove Project will open the concert with several selections, including “Do Whatcha Wanna,” “Shruggy Ji,” “Peter Gunn,” and “Superstition.” Todd Kelly directs the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø Jazz Ensemble, Groove Project, and Hilltop Combo; he also teaches studio trumpet and jazz improvisation.

Admission is $10 for adults for individual performances, but a seven-concert subscription can be purchased for $40. Students are admitted free of charge with ID. Tickets for all seven performances are available at the door or from the Hartmann Center Ticket Office.
