Cybersecurity Film Series
In 2019, the Center for Cybersecurity began highlighting important cybersecurity issues through documentary films as part of its inaugural Cybersecurity Film Series. Films are shown throughout October in conjunction with Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community are welcome to attend any showing. After each film, attendees are encouraged to ask questions and discuss topics from the film in our post-film Q&A session.
2026 Cybersecurity Film Series
All films will be shown in the Marty Theatre, located in the Michel Student Center. Attendance is free and popcorn will be provided. This year’s slate of films consists of the following:
October 7, 2026 at 6pm
Zero Days (2016)
A documentary focused on Stuxnet, a piece of self-replicating computer malware that the U.S. and Israel unleashed to destroy a key part of an Iranian nuclear facility, and which ultimately spread beyond its intended target.

Cracking the Queen’s Code (2025)
In early 2023, three amateur codebreakers announced they had successfully decoded the secret correspondence of Mary, Queen of Scots. 57 encrypted letters detail the exiled queen’s efforts to free herself from imprisonment and gain advantage over her rival, Queen Elizabeth. Now, after four centuries, Mary’s urgent pleas can be revealed.

The AI Doc (2026)
A father-to-be tries to figure out what is happening with all this AI insanity. The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist is a hand-made, eye-opening documentary about the most powerful technology humanity has ever created…and what’s at stake if we get it wrong.

Surveilled (2024)
Uncovers the insidious ways in which our daily lives are being surveilled by the state. In a gripping chase, Ronan Farrow travels across the world following breadcrumbs and finally exposing a dark world.
