The Illinois Council for the Social Studies will welcome noted sociologist and race relations expert Dr. James Loewen to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø for its spring conference.
Carl Cannon, founder of Peoria-based E.L.I.T.E. youth outreach program, showcased his organization’s work with at-risk youth during the Leadership in Education, Human Services and Counseling’s alumni celebration at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø March 8.

Everest Junior High School’s History Day research competition in Weston, Wisc., her inquiries led her back to Peoria in search of information about women’s advocate Betty Friedan.
